White Wood - Veria White Marble

The white marble of Veria is a very fine grain calcite quarried in the north Greece, in the central Macedonia, near Thessaloniki.

It's chemical composition is 98% Calcite, 1% Quartz and 1% Dolomite.

It has superior physico-mechanical properties. Specific weight is 2720 Kg/m3. It has one of the lowest absorbency Co. between marbles  (0,02Wf%) equal only to Pentelikon marble. Compresive Strength is at 990 Kg/cm2 while the Modulus of rupture is 207 Kg/cm2 and the modulus of elasticity 565,6tn/cm2. The Abrasion resistance is 6,94mm (after 1000m) and the Microhardness KNOOP 134,10Kg/mm2. The polishing it gets is really unique!

All the above characteristics are very promising and create great dynamic for this material, but they would not be important if the material did not have also such a unique and beautiful aesthetic characteristics.

In cross cut it is giving a misty sugar-white surface with beautiful clouds, while in cross cut you will get a white wood view with very fine white and grey lines!

It can be used on the floor like the wood and give unique results.

Verde Antico - Veria Green Marble

Detail of a verde antique column in the Church of Saints
 Sergius and Bacchus
 (now the Küçuk Ayasofya Camii)
in Istanbul,Turkey (527-536 CE).

Verde Antique, is a serpentinite breccia popular since ancient times as a decorative facing stone. It is a dark, dull green, white-mottled (or white-veined) serpentine, mixed with calcitedolomite, or magnesite, which takes a high polish. It is sometimes classed, erroneously, as a variety of marble ("serpentine marble", "Connemara marble", "Moriah stone", etc). It has also been called and marketed as "ophicalcite" or "ophite".
Verd antique is used like marble especially in interior decoration and occasionally as outdoor trim.
It was known as lapis atracius to the ancient Romans and was quarried especially at Casambala, near LarissaThessaly, in Greece. Verd antique was much used by the monumental builders of the Byzantine Empire and by the Ottomans after them. The term "verd antique" has been documented in English texts as early as 1745.

The Verde Antico marble has been used in many prestigious projects and remains an excellent choice for the interior design.
It has excellent physicomechanical properties which includes high hardness, low water absorption and high gloss.

It is used for floors, fireplaces, bath walls, stairs and generally all the possible interior uses.
For exterior it is not advised to be in direct contact with the sun when it is polished, because by the time it's vivid color is fading. Instead it can give wonderful results in sandblasted or bushammered finish in floors or claddings!

A special offer is on for this beautiful material.

Special Black Slate. It makes a difference!

A material that is calling you to touch and discover each curve of it's texture ...
it is capturing the attention with it's surface and desperately asking to be a part of your everyday life.
Discreet and with minimal moods, but also impressive and always makes his presence felt

Perhaps the most common question of those who reach for the first time this material is:
"What is it?   Is it natural?"
No one would say unfairly, since we have flooded with countless new artificial materials.

The applications cover the entire spectrum of moods and as evidenced by the pictures the results are dazzling dare I say!
What we need to care is the proper manufacturing, proper installation and especially the cleaning after it, so to highlight to the maximum the beauty of the material.

The protection and waterproofing of the material and it's "wet look" is achieved with the right products, and when placed on floors, we recommend applying a wax that will protect our precious material over time, and will make daily cleaning easy!

You are welcome to ask for information in case you would like to know more for the material and where you can find it!

Golden Spider. The Greek marble that "dresses" buildings allover the world!

The marble Golden Spider is quarried in Greece since many years. Though it is not widely known by the greek public due to the fact that it is mainly exported abroad where it has a great demand.

The applications for it's use are many and the results really impressive.

The bar of this photo is only a characteristic example, while it is equaly impressive when used for claddings and floors indoors and outdoors, in stairs, fireplaces counters and any other application an architect may imagine.

The Golden Spider marble is taking a very high gloss when polished.
One more important factor which boosts the reliability of the material is the high quality of manufacturing with the latest mechanological equipment.

It is an exclusive globaly material which has been used in many and big projects from Las Vegas to Beigin.
In any case, for who wants to create something exclusive, this material is a first class option to be examined.

Natural Stone Consulting: Can I clean Graffiti from natural stones?

We have the possibility to clean Graffiti stains from natural stones by using appropriate products.
Below you can see the cleaning made on a Pietra Serena cladding, a very absorvent stone. The result as you see is perfect. The stain has been cleaned almost 2 weeks after so the stain was completely dry, but this was not a problem. If you have similar problems to face don't hesitate to ask my advice.
